A thoughtful approach to admissions

My approach

Seeing more possibility than you expected

I’ve always believed that MBA admissions decisions aren’t just about where you’ve been, they’re about whether someone truly understands what you’re capable of.

My work centers on helping people see their experience, direction, and potential with fresh perspective. Often, that means surfacing strengths and connections that haven’t been fully recognized yet, and understanding how they come together in a way that feels authentic and credible.

“Karen is direct, deeply invested, and unusually present! her ability to see patterns quickly, ask the questions others don’t, and keep the process focused without losing sight of the bigger picture - is a unique gift.”

“The work is demanding - but as Karen’s client, I know where I stand, what matters most, and what comes next - at every step of the process.”

I am proud to be consistently ranked among the top admissions consultants globally by Poets & Quants · based on 120+ admits to top programs

Have you ever been told not to aim too high?

Growing up, I attended a large public high school in Miami. When I shared my plan to apply early decision to Columbia, I was advised by a school counselor that it was not realistic and that my effort would be better spent elsewhere.

That advice fueled my determination to pursue my goals with intention. I decided that my application would not be defined by credentials alone, but by self-advocacy, thoughtful risk-taking, and bringing a clear, authentic voice to every part of the application.

I applied and was admitted.

That experience continues to shape how I think about admissions today. I believe there is no single mold to fit, and that strategy, reflection, and sound execution can meaningfully influence outcomes.

How I support you

Today, I work one-on-one with applicants navigating some of the most consequential decisions of their lives. I believe deeply in my clients, and I also challenge them through thoughtful strategy and disciplined execution.

Many clients arrive feeling like underdogs. My role is to help them see what is already there, push beyond what feels comfortable, and present their strongest possible case with intention at every step.

Over the years, I have worked with hundreds of MBA applicants and numerous applicants to other master’s programs. That depth of experience has shaped my judgment and sharpened my instincts.

My approach is both rigorous and human. I encourage without indulging, and I bring clear strategic judgment without pretense or gatekeeping.

Clients have achieved consistently strong outcomes at the most selective programs, including Harvard Business School, Stanford GSB, and Wharton. Many return for guidance well beyond admissions, as their careers continue to evolve.
